Rubber Blooming

No rubber industry wants the blooming of their rubber product. Rubber blooming is one of the most undesired phenomena and every rubber industry tries to avoid it. All though it is just superficial, implying that it only affects the appearance of the rubber product and does not affect the physical properties of rubber.



In order to avoid rubber blooming, rubber manufacturers add blooming agents that eliminate the chances of rubber blooming and increase the physical properties of the rubber by increasing its resistance to fatigue and aging. Insoluble sulfur is one most popular blooming agent used in the rubber industry, and it is the most important raw material for the manufacturing of tires.  The crystallization of compounding ingredients that are usually present on the surface of stock, cured or uncured, are always accompanied by the migration of the substance from the bulk to the surface, this phenomenon is known as Blooming.
