Define Rubber Blooming

 Rubber blooming is an undesired phenomenon, simply because it hurts the appearance of the rubber product. Blooming an entirely superficial phenomenon, which means it does not hinder the functionality of rubber.



Rubber blooming simply referred to a milky dusting of dry powder on the surface of the rubber compounds. These are the recrystallized rubber compound particulates that are unable to dissolve and come up at the rubber surface as the compound cools down at room temperature after vulcanization.

Most of the rubber compounds do not with the elastomers that are in use in the rubber industry, which is why rubber blooming is a common occurrence. In general, there are three types of bloom considering whether is a wet bloom or dry bloom:

Exudation

Bleeding

Oily Bloom
