Vulcanizing Agent For Rubber

Vulcanization is a chemical process that is used to convert natural rubber and some polydiene elastomers into cross-linked polymers. Sulfur is considered to be the most common vulcanizing agent. Being a homopolymer and can create long chains easily with the individual polymer molecules when heated with rubber.

Insoluble Sulfur is one of the most common vulcanizing agent for rubber used by the tyre industries to harden the rubber and increase its longevity.

The main purpose of using vulcanizing agents is to prevent the rubber from blooming.
